A turk is a finishing move that you do when you have your opponent off the mat and you want to take him to the ground. So you can do a turk when you do such moves like a double leg takedown. So below will first be the steps to performing a double leg then the steps to performing a turk.

          Double Leg

  • First off start by grabbing your opponents wrists.
  • Then throw them apart in opposite directions so you have an open shot on your opponent without his hands in front of himself
  • Lower your body- by bending your knees
  • Step between his legs with your lead foot and then drop to your knee with this leg till your ready to finish the move
  • Also your shoulders should be over your lead foot
  • Grab your opponents legs, one in each hand at either his knees or thighs
  • If your lead foot is your right foot your head should go on the outside of your opponents right side and visa versa if your lead leg is your left leg
  • Since your ready to finish you can stand back up on your lead foot and pick up your opponent by using your legs- not back. Also drive with your head into his side to get him off his feet and now your opponent is off the mat. This is where you will now perform the turk.

      Turk

  • When you are holding your opponent in the air the first thing that you want to do is lift your opponents right leg.
  • When you lift your opponents right leg then you want to step with your left leg and hook around your opponents left knee.
  • Then all you have to do is finish by driving your opponent to the mat where if you performed the move correctly then you should land on top of your opponent and he will land on his back.

  Wrestling Tips:

  • Make sure that when you land on the mat with your opponent that he doesn't roll you onto your back. So what you want to do is post firmly on the mat with your left hand.
